Purchased an E4OD for my 1993 F150. Installed the transmission, and it never made it out of first gear.

In additon to that, the unit would not always engage in reverse. Needless to say, after that first initial test drive, I brought it right back to my shop. Called Monster and got a complete runaround from a lot of different people, with nothing ever resolved. I ultimately contacted Coastal Transmission in Savannah GA, and had AAA tow the vehicle there, as Monster said they would send Coastal the parts they needed to repair the transmission, and pay the labor.

The truck sat there for a month, and nothing happened. Since I did not send my core back to Monster, I had coastal rebuild and install the unit that I had removed from the vehicle initially, because I really needed my truck back. My truck is fine now, a year later, with about 10000 miles on a LOCALLY built transmission. Unfortunately I am stuck with their unit I can do nothing with except sell as a rebuildable core for 100 bucks.

I implore everyone out there to take heed to what I say; Do business LOCALLY with larger expenditures, as you MUST have control over the process. I firmly believe that Monster gets cores from the junkyards, paints them to look pretty, and ships them off in a fancy box. The only reason they have been in business for the time they have is because they have a slick lawyer with a lot of legal loopholes for them to evade their customers (read their fine print on their website). After all, look at the amount of complaints filed against them.

I am surprised they have not yet had a class action lawsuit filed against them. I will never buy big purchases through the mail again!

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $2000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

My son bought a 700r4 for his 67 GTO. Wouldnโ€™t shift to 3rd or 4th gear.

Took it to the best transmission repair shop in our area. The transmission was never rebuilt. Just painted and shipped. Itโ€™s also a pre 85 tranny.

Theyโ€™re playing around no wanting to honor the warranty. It was a rip off
