THEY WILL NOT ANSWER THE PHONE IN THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT. I CAN GET SALES, BUT I CAN'T GET WARRANTY.
I LEAVE MESSAGES AND THEY DON'T RETURN MY CALLS.
I just got an email from them requesting a video if the TV cable in action. We will see
Initially, I planned to install it myself, but after seeing some poor reviews regarding Monster Transmission, I decided to have a certified shop do the work. The transmission started leaking as soon as the oil was put into it. It began what I would call soft shifting, which it should not have done with a firm shift kit in it. As it turned out, it jumped from 1st gear to third gear.
The engine in my truck boasts around 440 horsepower, so it didn't lug down or lose a bunch of power, and I thought it was just built incorrectly. First, the shop that installed the transmission tried to contact the Monster Transmission warranty department, but they didn't answer the phone. Then, I repeatedly tried to contact the warranty department, and they didn't answer the phone either. I contacted the sales department - they do answer that phone - and complained to them.
They provided me with a warranty number. Subsequently, the warranty department put me through the wringer with photos that needed to be taken. I got a second opinion from another transmission-only shop. It turns out the transmission was lacking 2nd or 4th gear.
Hence the 'soft shifting.' The second shop's opinion was that the transmission needed to be rebuilt. Never purchase anything from these folks.

Verified ReviewerTorque converter went out and killed the transmission
Bought a 6L80 sport transmission from Monster. I had Aamco install it so I would have proof of everything they required for warranty, such as hot flush, etc.
I drove it around town for 2K miles instead of the 500 they required. Everything seemed okay until I drove from Colorado to Texas. On the way to Texas, the torque converter ate itself, sending metal through the transmission. This is a stock truck, no mods.
Less than 5K miles and $8K down the drain. Even if Monster actually warrantied it, which they won't, I would never install their junk again!

Verified ReviewerResolved: 1-Star Review — Dishonest Warranty Tactics, Poor Craftsmanship, and Zero Accountability
We are a professional custom auto shop with years of experience working on high-end vehicle builds. After ordering a transmission and a rebuilt NP208 transfer case from Monster Transmission, we experienced an ongoing series of major issues that cost us time, money, and credibility with our customer.
The problems began when we were given incorrect guidance from Monsters technician, who advised us to go with a ¾ output shaft.
After receiving the unit, we discovered it was the wrong length. We provided precise measurements and returned it, only to receive another transmission with a shaft that was over 6 inches long. We were then told by their technician to cut the shaft down ourselves.
Upon installation, the transmission leaked from the front pump seal. Additionally, the case port had stripped threadssomething we had specifically requested be fixed during the return process, and it was ignored.
The transfer case we had sent in for rebuild came back with a fluid leak, and our ASE-certified technician discovered a hairline crack that had been completely missed. That crack allowed transmission fluid to fill the transfer case.
Despite providing proof of torque converter purchase from another vendoras required to qualify for a 3-year, unlimited mileage warrantywe were told the unit was only covered under a 90-day warranty. Most of that time had been consumed by Monster Transmission's own slow response times and repeated errors. Their customer service delays routinely lasted weeks, and our multiple attempts to contact our sales rep went unanswered.
To make matters worse, Monster Transmission curates their online reviews and only displays 4- and 5-star feedback on their website.
That level of selective publishing is incredibly misleading and does not reflect the full scope of customer experiences.
When we finally received a response from their support team, we were offered a bench inspectiononly if we paid for round-trip shipping and diagnostic fees ourselves. After all the back-and-forth, lost labor hours, rework, and reputational damage to our business, we requested a modest $1,000 refund to help offset the impact. They declined.
Our experience with Monster Transmission has been one of the worst weve had with any transmission supplier.
If you're considering them for custom work or rebuilds, think twice. Their quality control, communication, and willingness to stand behind their product have been profoundly disappointing.

Verified ReviewerGarbage monster transmission
Paid monster transmission for a completely rebuilt transmission did not work today. It was installed and found a bad electronic valve body.
Promised to send out a new one, sent me an old one. Put that one in, driven less than 1,000 miles, now I'm stuck in a parking lot with a transmission that won't go anywhere. These people sell garbage. Beware!
I am now $5,000 between installation, repairs, and the transmission, with an $800 monster transmission credit for me to be sitting at a hot parking lot at the DMV on inspection day after just putting a new windshield in, a full tank of gas, and a set of tires.
I am now sitting in the parking lot with my monster transmission that won't go forwards or backwards, just like the day I got it. *** these people.

Purchased 5 months ago trash and they will not honor their 3 year warranty!
Purchased a transmission 5 months ago, it went out. And now been trying to get them honor their 3 year warranty to no avail.
They have you jump through a bunch of hoops then never respond after that! And thats if you can even get ahold of anyone but a stupid on hold message and tiresome song!

RUN from this company. If your looking for any type of transmission or transfer case do not buy from Monster Transmission.
They sold us one that has had many issues with less than 30 miles on it.
They refuse to do anything about it and say our Wowarrenty is up. Shop elsewhere or you will regret it!

Verified ReviewerSold me the wrong Transmission, entered the wrong information on my order
The salesman who entered the order sold the wrong transmission. He made errors in the information for two transmission orders; the VIN numbers don't match, and the power ratings don't match.
I've been attempting to work with them for the past three months. Despite numerous phone calls and time spent waiting on the phone, they won't allow me to speak with management, nor will management return my calls. I've also contacted their parent company and can't get any progress on the issue. I'm going to go elsewhere, and I'll use a local company.
At least I can go to their worksite. They're playing games due to a poorly performing employee they've since dismissed. They even told me he never existed, but I have an email with his name. This company has significant personnel issues, starting from the top.
If they don't answer the phone, it means you never called.
If they don't put the correct information, then you don't have a warranty. What a joke of a company this is!
- Business model good
- Upper management non responsive
Preferred solution: replacement transmission
User's recommendation: Use someone local that you can go to their worksite and talk to, do not use an internet based service company. They will simply not answer the phone if there is a problem.

Decided not to move forward with them as they wanted me to pay shipping to and from, plus added money to fix repairs when it was totally their fault from the beginning.
I ordered a 4L80e transmission for a 2wd 1971 c10. After constant checking and Re-checking our work to make sure everything was good on our end, come to find out that the transmission was missing a reluctor gear.
The one I received from MT was for a 4wd.
30 day warranty is out. Built wrong!

Why on Earth do these people take all your money say they treat you like family. But in reality they treat you like a trash bag.
My warning do not purchase a thing from this place.
User's recommendation: Do not trust this company at all. A pack of lies just like I was worried about.
Don’t make the same mistake that I made
I ordered a turbo 350 with a painted black case. When I received confirmation it said gray ( standard).
I called and they told me it was already in shipping but that they would send me a monster tshirt for their mistake. I obviously complained and after talking to someone in management they agreed to paint it black. I received the transmission about one week later and when I opened the plastic box I was disappointed. The transmission looked like it was rattle canned with flat black and had overspray everywhere.
I had to respray the transmission and installed it only to find fluid pouring from the front seal. After reading all the bad reviews I decided to pull the transmission and ordered a TCI from summit. Stay away from this company!
Quality and customer service is horrible. 4k down the drain.
User's recommendation: Read reviews first! Don’t buy!
Well I thought I was getting a good transmission for my Ford F350 .. not
Well over a year and a half ago I scraped up $4200 to get a rebuilt 5W110 transmission for my 2005 Ford F350. It took them about 3 weeks to get it to me.
With a core of about $1000 with under standing that I had to send it back with in two weeks. I did and I only received $850 and before I reseved my refund. I could not get the new transmission to work right, there response was to tell me to take pictures of the truck's dash and the new transmission, cooler and was it make any sounds.
Well I said yes it's not working right what are you going to do about this . I took the picture and sent them to them and their response two weeks later was I need to take a video of the truck running and of the dash , the new transmission cooler and of the engine and I did and got no response.

Verified ReviewerPurchased transmitchell ball over a year ago oh, they got twenty four hundred miles out of it, and now they've lost it.
Which is my transformation in july of 2023 one of the big reasons I went with them is because I had heard they made incredible transmissions, and when speaking to the salesperson was told they're going to have my training in approximately 2 weeks.
The first training they sent out, it would not fit my car and they did not have the specs for my 2011 ctsv. And built it to the regular specs of a, cts, they admitted that they did not have that's specs, but still insisted that my mechanic put the training back.
Take the measurement, made them jump through the Ringer. Sending pictures and costing me over 1500 in mechanic fees after wasting another month. Leash, they finally agreed to take it back ken told me they were doing me a favor by not charging me shipping to do so. That was very nice of them even though they sent me the wrong translation long story short.
Over 4 months later, I received my transmission, I live in the white mountains of New Hampshire, so I could not use my car until the spring of 2024. Where I got 2400 miles out of it and the transmission blew. No idea what but I contacted them. I had to bring it back to the dealership where I had the works.
Done, and they had to now fill out a lot of documents with pictures measurements. And God knows what else they were asking for. This has cost me about another $1100. How here I am?
3 and a 1/2 months later, finally, I got in touch with someone from the warrant department again, after I paid over $500 to ship it back to them from their shipping company, and they don't know where my transmission is.
They just asked me if I shipped it back. So well, over a year ago i spent over $10000 worth of monster transmissions. Another $5000 approximately with my mechanic. Not including what they're going to charge me for storage.
And the recent work they've had to do since I'm being told they're not sure if they even received it. After I've called multiple times Customer service is horrendous. Their lack of consideration unbelievable. I would not wish they drop APS on this company if it was on fire.
I am now looking into legal option. After them, we're losing my car for free 2 years, because by the time they find it, we're gonna be a new one it will be winter again. And then we'll not be able to use this vehicle until next frame. Which was like, 2 years without my car and only being able to use it for a practical half a month outrageous.
They should be embarrassed.
How about their lack of service? And I really hope that eventually, with all these battery views, someone shut them down so they stopped ripping people off That'd rather have my money taken at gunpoint? I'm from a masked bandit, at least they did some.Type of work to earn it. If only I could give negative start, I would.
Look up all the reviews on this company. If you still purchase from them, you're an idiot.I wish I had looked up the.Reviews, instead of just listening to tv commercials.
- There are no pros
- Cost
Preferred solution: I would like to get my transformation so I can use my car. It's been over a year

Verified ReviewerWorst experience ever when dealing with a company!
Monster Transmission review. DONT USE THEM and heres why:
Resto Build on a 68 Mercury Cougar included a 4R70W ordered from Monster Transmission to pair with a 2017 Coyote, order #557098.
All information was provided to Monster when ordered and the cost was $3653.43.
The 1st transmission had to be returned because Monster configured it for a late-model vehicle, not built based on the information provided to them. I incurred additional labor charges and shop supplies totaling $490 and a 5-week delay in build time, they covered shipping. Monster build caused the failure.
2nd transmission order #563268, blew with less than 20 miles driven on it. The diagnosis according to them was electronics failure, burnt direct drum and clutches, and internal slipping.
They replaced the electronics, the frictions, and steels in the direct drum, and the frictions and steels inside the intermediates. They paid partial labor of $360 and shipping. My additional cost included the remaining labor, towing, and shop supplies of $270 plus a 4-week delay in the build. Monster build caused the failure.
3rd transmission order #564890 was returned because the car would not stay in gear when coming to a stop.
Their original response was that we didnt order the proper transmission to handle the horsepower output. The 2nd generation Coyote puts out 435hp and with not having a catalytic converter it could possibly put out an extra 15hp bringing it to 450hp, if lucky. The 4r70W, according to Monster Transmission, can handle up to 550hp which is why it was selected. At this point, they were reluctant to tell me why the second transmission failed.
I was constantly emailing and placing phone calls to try and get the answer and finally, their warranty dept customer service representative (another story in itself) stated that they were going to upgrade the transmission to an SS, 600hp. They covered the shipping as I was extremely disappointed in their handling, I had to pay for the labor and shop supplies of $490 and a 6-week delay in the build. They said they Dyno tested this transmission (just like all the others) upon its return and found nothing.
4th transmission order #567404. With only 55 miles on the transmission the front pump bushing seal tore and dumped fluid going down the road.
Followed the warranty procedures once again by taking pictures and providing a small description of what happened. Waited a couple of weeks without any word back, so again I had to hound them for an answer. The reply I finally received was that according to their lead technician, they wanted to ship it back again and that I was responsible for the shipping along with everything else. They continued with From the description of the issue, it sounded like the front pump seal was damaged during the installation, which would be considered an installer error.
As this was the 4th transmission and a long time span, I went to a local shop specializing in transmissions and they found that the front pump bushing had spun and walked out far enough to cut the front seal. It is possible that bushing wasnt staked completely. So why should I have to pay again? Labor, parts, towing, and shop supplies (fluids) to repair is costing me another $1600.
Ive requested to speak to management on several occasions with no response and when trying to speak with someone in the warranty dept they tell you to text or email them.
They ghost you hoping that you will go away or just continue to pay extra for their screwups. Having this many issues speaks to their incompetence in building a transmission! Their customer service (when you get to speak with someone) shows a lack of ownership and accountability in their product. Their WOWanty as they call it is a joke, they should be responsible for their mistakes to include all additional costs involved!
I even offered to bring the transmissions back to them as I only live two hours away and they refused, saying they were under construction and didnt have room.
Their pre-recorded message on the phone while you wait to talk to someone before being put through to voicemail says, We are building relationships. My question is with who, not with the car clubs or with the little guy doing their own build. This has been the worst company to work with in doing the rebuild! I understand that some things happen, but 4 builds and its still NOT CORRECT, that should be embarrassing!
So, now you have been warned before making your purchase of a new transmission.
If you use Monster Transmission you can only blame yourself!
If you want to enjoy your car, I suggest finding an alternate option as you will save money, time, and AGGRAVATION!
Total cost $6503.43 for a $3653.43 transmission without a warranty. The total of time lost is invaluable!
- Customer service nonexistent they ghost you and a product that works
